Clinics & Services
Asthma, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Blood Pressure
We run regular clinics for patients who suffer from the above conditions and they will be invited to attend for a check-up at least once a year. The clinics are run by our practice nurses, who have additional training in the management of these diseases. Other healthcare staff may also participate.
Child Health and Immunisation
(every Monday 14:00 – 14:30)
Health and development checks are undertaken by the doctor and health visitor. Immunisations for all preschool children are given. Appointments are sent out automatically by the Child Health Department.
Ante Natal Clinic
(every Tuesday 14:00 – 16:00 by appointment)
This is run by the Midwife and antenatal check-ups are provided.
Cervical Smears
All women between 25 and 65 are advised to have a regular cervical smear every 3 – 5 years depending on your age. These are performed by the practice nurses.
Family Planning and Contraception
Advice is available during normal surgery hours.
Minor Surgery
(every Thursday 14:30)
Removal of cysts and lumps, treatment of in-growing toenails, etc. under local anaesthesia by arrangement with your doctor.
Warts and Verruca
(Thursdays 14:45 – 15:30)
Treatment by freezing with liquid nitrogen.
Foreign Travel
A full range of immunisations is available. Please contact the practice nurse for details. There will be a charge for certain vaccinations.
Adult Vaccinations
Flu vaccinations are available each autumn for everyone over 65 years of age and other patients with specific pre-existing medical conditions.
